November 4, 2018 - Q4 - 2018 Tasting - Aged Bordeaux (Pre-1997) (New York, NY): 3 of 19 wines tasted double blind. One of my favorites today, this was drinking very nicely. Brighter ruby than 1 & 2, so looking much younger. The palate was tart red fruits and savory character, some leather and spices with a nice juicy liveliness to the fruit. Quite delicious for me. Group voted - 4 pennies - I voted 1 penny.

November 4, 2018 - Q4 Wine Club - Aged Bordeaux (Our apt): Wine #3: This was one of my favorites the first time around. It was a great mix of darker currant flavors and spice cabinet and still that more all around earthiness. This came across as more interesting and intense in my first pass. In my second it seemed a bit less nuanced than some of the other wines. (4 pennies)

March 31, 2018 - For some reason, managed to find another bottle of this in the cellar. Show you how accurate my inventory system is. Excellent showing but sadly also my last bottle from an EP case, or maybe not! Lightly perfumed nose but clean, no fireworks here. But this was pretty good on the palate. Still unresolved tannins with spicy bites. Definitely had put on more weight and complexity over the years. Creamy texture. Rich and long finish. Strong burnt tobacco aftertaste with hint of oaks too. ABV 13% without any trace of alcohol. Easily last another 10 years with this showing. This bottle would have given ‘85 vintage a run for the money.

March 14, 2018 - Decanted for about 2 hours. The nose is superb with blackcurrant, plum jam, tobacco, smoke and subtle earth. The palate has really good vibrancy and concentration. The balance is here and is really delicious with the slight creamy mouthfeel.Simply a pleasure to drink.
