February 25, 2018 - Vin qui fait typé Italie sans qu'on connaisse vraiment son origine précise. Fruité et rustique, il s'est amélioré tout au long du repas.

April 16, 2016 - A ripe Montepulciano. Nose is floral, ripe dark fruits, anise, and spice. The palate is rich, ripe, and full. Definitely a more modern styled wine, but still has enough freshness to be enjoyable.

February 3, 2012 - This is a big, voluptuous food wine. Deep, ruby-red color. Pronounced nose, with black fruit notes (esp. stewed plums), tobacco, spice box, French oak, and an "artist's studio" aroma I've occasionally noticed and deeply appreciate, but that is hard to describe. Pronounced palate matches the nose, with medium acidity, soft and well-integrated tannins, full body, medium length. I'm glad I have more of these to enjoy.

February 20, 2011 - This was still too young, tannins are still a little too astringent and mouth-drying. Acidic. That being said, it was no surprise that it took forever to open up, meaning day two when poured from the decanter it began to be a lot more interesting. Not too much on the nose. Nice body, beautiful dark purple color. When opened up, we tasted dried currant as well as cedar. Very nice on day two, but really---$50?? We'd rather have an Amarone any day. Well, OK, we'd buy another and lay it down for a few years to see what happens. That cedar was really nice...
