The apperance is clear, medium -. lemon.
Nose is clean, youthful I suppose, not sure how to judge Carriante with what seems to be deliberate oxidation, no fruit notes, yeast and olive oil and hazelnut smells.
The palate is dry with medium - acidity. There is an element of tannin through skin contact, so more texture than anything else -- its fleshy and mouthcoating. The body is medium + with the flavors lingering on through and across the palate.
Overall, to me, this is very good wine for its textural intensity and flavor intensity on the palate. I can certainly understand that it would not be to everyone's liking. Lots of smoke and wood on the nose when I go back. I have no idea how it will age or mature. -
