  February 21, 2011 - Some friends and I bought a box of these, and diverse reports have been coming back – including some very good news. Nose initially suggests I’ve got one of the good ones. Whispy smoke, iron, dark raspberry. Then some moulding cherry turns up. Soon we’re back to the virtuous with orange-coloured rust, oil and a hint of leaf mulch. Then it’s old socks to trouble me again. In the mouth there’s a quiet tone of orangey Irn-Bru. Nice fruit-sweetness and definite acidity. It’s tangy, in that style which turns bitter cartwheels in the mouth. That’s really moreish. And yet, whilst this is light and acid-focussed, it’s pronouncedly forceful: pushing its tautly-muscled little chest forward. It’s so not Beaune-side. It’s not merely Nuits either: it’s rather Vosne! 90 to 91, 90.
