Community Tasting Notes 7

December 26, 2015 - Pleasant quaff, nothing super special. Cranberry, strawberry, slight pomegranate, hints of cherry, a little earth and funk, smooth velvety finish that is just a bit short. Tannins are completely integrated, this wine is at peak and will only be declining over the next few years. Stored in temp controlled cellar.

July 2, 2014 - Consistent with previous notes. Really good for its level with an excellent qpr.

February 26, 2014 - This is a really good Bourgogne that has fleshed out very nicely since I last tasted it. Tonight, after a couple of hours of air, this was showing bright black cherry fruit, abit of red licorice, some subtle tarry notes and sous bois with very good depth and concentration for its level. Excellent, and at $20 a bottle, a very good qpr.

April 11, 2013 - A very serviceable bourgogne - nice cherry fruit aromatics, with a clean and bright palate. I probably liked this wine better in other vintages.

November 7, 2012 - Very nice - darker ruby in color, the nose was subdued mix of red and black fruits initially, but after the bottle was open for an hour or two, it developed into a more prominent perfume, with more spice to go with the fruit. The wine seemed fairly full and dense fruit for a bourgogne, likely due to the warmth of the vintage. Although the midpalate was thin, there was a spicy element and then a finish which was sharp and clean. Not particularly long or distinctive, but it offered reminders of why red burgundy can be so beguiling. If this were rated strictly compared to other bourgogne rouges I have had, the score would be significantly higher.
