November 9, 2023 - Did perform very well and at it’s peak now. Sur bois and red fruits with a medium long finish. Tannins mellow.

June 28, 2023 - Medium red color. PNP, Drank a glass over 90 minutes. The nose is earthy, iron, cherry, hints of strawberry. The palate is tart cherry, cherry pit, iropn, medium bodied with a good dose of minerality and very pleasant earth with a hint of leather. Holding up, maybe probably drink over the next 3 years. 91+pts.

February 7, 2021 - Medium red color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over 3 hours. Deep cherry notes on the nose, a sweet essence as well, pepper, vanilla, mineral. The palate has some rusticity with a strong sense of iron and minerality followed by more savory notes, underbrush, dried earth that is more subtle and round moderate tannins. This is a little less refined, but offers classic minerality and a sturdy frame with nice acidity. Hot showing but there's plenty of flesh here. 91+pts.

February 7, 2021 - Zoom tasting. Lovely inviting floral nose suggesting red fruits.Palate again is all about red and a hint of blue fruits, all balanced nicely with acidity and soft tannins. Ina good drinking spot with easily another 5 years of peak life. 91-92 pts

December 21, 2012 - Sad-trombone noise on the first sip with its sickly sweet California-style smell of candy canes, licorice, and cranberry. It's lean, lacy, and tender in the mouth, but still has the flavors you associate with that scent, so it pretty much feels like a watered down Russian River Valley pinot, with a touch of cedary/smoky barrel notes on the back end. Actually the smokiness is fairly vivid. I really disliked this but I came back to it about two hours later and have to admit that it was much improved, with the candied scents mostly mellowed out. However, the '10 vintage was so much better that I won't be buying any more of this to see what happens.
