Community Tasting Notes 5

February 21, 2019 - We bought this in 2012 on our trip to Italy from Adams at Contucci palace, after our wine tasting we crashed full of Japanese tourists. Slight barnyard aroma that dissipated with aeration. Long finish with moderate tannins.

July 1, 2014 - Still drinking very well -- even on pop and pour. Nice stuff here; complex, balanced, earthy. Should hold on for a while, but no perceptible need to wait.

September 5, 2013 - Great stuff, and outstanding QPR. Terroir shines through beautifully. Well balanced. Window hard to call -- its nice now and pretty hard to envision it not remaining so for at least 5 years.

  • Eric Guido Likes this wine: 89 points

February 7, 2012 - The Italian Wine Masters (Metropolitan Pavilion): The nose showed dry cocoa, cinnamon stick, yet not sweet, with soil and gravel notes. On the palate, I found wild berry, raspberry and herbs. The finish showed prunes and citrus rind.

February 17, 2011 - 80% Prugnolo Gentile, 10% Colorino, 10% Canaiolo. Fresh red cherry aromas, full, bright, characteristic fruit, needs a few months to settle. Tasted at Anteprima del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. VG
