March 26, 2018 - After this bottle, this wine solidly holds a top ten spot in my all time wines. The 1997 is a stunning wine and is still going strong after 20 years. I've now had 5 bottles, the first two being great in their youth 5-10 year age. The second two were a slightly thinner at around 15-16 years old. This last bottle in 2018 great again. Such great texture, dense dark fruits, spice, oak. Thick and rich on the palate, velvety mouthfeel, caressing.

August 24, 2016 - This was very nice. Layers of flavor with integrated tannins. The fruit is secondary to the leather bit but still present. Probably had several years left.

August 21, 2009 - Opened this wine for my 40th birthday with my wife, paired with grilled steaks from Wildfire. wine was cellared properly the entire time aged. in a word....Amazing! beautiful aromas of dark fruits, sweetness, and oak that was so well integrated that its hard to describe it. i could sit and sniff this wine all night long! dark inky purple color with little signs of oxidation or age. beautiful vibrant dark fruit with hints of vanilla and oak, very smooth and long finish.(my wife who doesn't particularly favor heavy cabs loved this wine). i only wish i had more bottles. truly a great bottle of wine!

March 2, 2009 - Nose of dark berries mixed with vanilla and spices. Dark in color. Taste of concentrated fruit and spices but not overwhelming. I'd say, very balanced that you don't even taste the alcohol. The finish is very long, lingers on your palate. I wish I had a couple more bottles.
