November 24, 2023 - Basically a perfect wine. Bright red fruit, solid acidity, youthfully balanced, and totally delicious. I wish I had cases more.

    February 22, 2021 - I guess I just don’t get Quintarelli, every bottle
I’ve tried with age has a bit of a raisinated, stewed prune, balsamic oxidative heaviness to the palate that just overwhelms the other components of the wine. The aromas are beguiling, but I never really look forward to actually drinking these.

June 25, 2020 - Showing the about the best in a Italian red 2002 that I can recall, ripe luscious fruit from the ripasso, but has such great acidity that it finishes pretty and clean. In a good place, but will stay enjoyable for a few more years.

June 6, 2019 - In contrast to my last bottle, which when opened barely a year ago was over-extracted and overripe, this bottle sang from the moment opened, with gentle and balanced notes of sweet red fruit and balsam. Could the extra year have caused the wine to turn a corner to that degree, I wonder, or was I just luckier this time?

March 20, 2019 - Dark ruby with some browning throughout. Decanted an hour before.
Aromas of flowers, herbal note, baking spices, a medicinal element. Nice elegant aromas.
Flavours repeat with nice dried berry element … fruitcake and raisins without the sweetness. Rich and juicy, dry, medium bodied. Dusty smooth tannins. Not heavy or thick on the mouthfeel, but fluid with depth of flavours. Tannins are smooth and velvety, yet still grippy.
