December 7, 2021 - The 2008 Artist Series is a blend of 55% Cabernet Franc, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot.
Medium/dark purple almost all the way to the rim. Aromatically reticent even after two hours in the decanter but the subtle fragrance of toasted spices, fresh asphalt, eucalyptus and dried red berries is captivating.
The attack is fresh and energetic, showing boysenberry, black pepper and a savory component reminiscent of salt-cured plum. Alcohol, acid and tannins are finely balanced. Showing almost no signs of age — you can safely ignore the drink by date of 2016 on CellarTracker. Delicious and a great QPR. -

October 29, 2013 - PnVnD let air for 1 hr.Dense dark opaque purple balck with slight crimson on the rim. Big aromas of cassis fig paste balckberry espresso raspberry gananche and rosemary. Medium weight with velvety tannins. Huge flavours echo the aromas with enough acid to keep it from being flabby. Nicely lingering dark chocolate blackberry and espresso finish. Big and elegant. Nicely aged complexity and still youthfully fruity. Great to sip and with food.

January 8, 2012 - Hardly got it logged in! And glad we didn't wait. This scrumptious blend (cab franc, cab and a bit of merlot) is ready to drink. Pure aromas and clean, intense berry flavors; long, pleasing finish. Fruit only, no savory flavors, here, but oh, what grand fruit flavors.
