Community Tasting Notes 2

  • Rich.Herbs Likes this wine:

November 27, 2015 - Some sweet fruit backed with perfect amount of acid. Good finish with a hint of petrol (which I liked). Drink now or over the next 5 years with light dishes or as an aperitif.

May 12, 2011 - nice citrus and herbal notes. lime. finish is a touch watery

Terry Theise Estate Selections

(Strub Niersteiner Paterberg Riesling Spätlese) ($25.00) Wasn’t that ’08 wonderful? So where is it? As it happens it’s a symptom of the times; Walter can’t bottle a ton on spec because he has no one to sell a “sweet” wine to if we don’t clean him out. So our wine is bottled to order, and there’s no more 2008. This ’09 was relatively straightforward; it’s vivacious and minty; it feels riper than the ’08; salty and not-quite-plum, lime oil, wintergreen; a long shimmer on the minty finish.
