January 23, 2016 - Another winner from this amazing winery! Spice, plum, and a surprisingly red fruit profile round out the nose. Palate is bright with light tannins for a Mourvèdre and a startlingly strong candied cherry flavor. This is against a backdrop of more spice and some clean incense. Drank this with a meal that had savory cinnamon as the driving spice. The wine with that flavor in the food was a nice match, bringing out the candied cherry sweetness. Excellent for a blizzard day!

April 26, 2014 - This is the bigger, feral side of the CA Mourvèdre Renaissance. Full of dark fruit, earth, and animal; backed by freshening acidity. More fruit driven than its old world counterparts, but cut from the same cloth. Ready to go, but no hurry. A lovely match with rack of lamb.
