July 4, 2019 - Consistent with previous bottles. Dark red and black fruits, peppery spice. Oak has integrated more so this showed very well and paired perfectly with some grilled lamb kofta.

March 10, 2018 - Tertiary notes are starting to show more. Getting a funky cured ham on the nose, which I like. Still had some acid and plenty of tannins and fruit, so no hurry--but it's probably got to be close to peak.

July 29, 2017 - Popped and poured. Should have decanted for sediment. Black and blue fruit with a bit of black pepper on the nose. Similar flavors on the palate. Oak seems more integrated and overall the wine shows some nice restraint and balance. Medium acid and tannin.

October 19, 2016 - Deep, dark fruit with juicy, tangy acid. Good earthy/tar with dried herbs. This is muscular for Swan, a full bodied expression of their old school style with plenty of high toned acid. Great flash acidic finish. This is really nice. Drink or hold.
