February 26, 2019 - 14.1% abv. One of my dwindling supply of Gary Farrell-made wines. Ullage was low but the cork appeared solid. The wine showed viscosity. I find this wine exciting in its robust flavors. The nose was reticent when I first removed it from the refrigerator where it resided for several weeks. On the palate I sense raspberry, orange zest and mild spices. Delicious! I still have a few remaining Alysian wines but will be sad when they are all gone. (Amended note: I just checked my Alysian holdings on CellarTracker and I have more bottles remaining than I thought. I will have to start drinking some of the older vintages.)

September 15, 2013 - Great, full flavor. Very smooth. One of the best pinot's we have had!

July 14, 2013 - Typical Gary Farrell wine, restrained, reasonably well-balanced in this case. Odd fruit notes at first, settled down after opening, but was never a compelling wine (or one that invites contemplation). Served with a 2008 Hartford Maclean's Block RRV, which was more assertive, more complex, more memorable.

January 29, 2013 - PnP through the vinturi, left it at least 20 minutes. In the glass: Ruby, tiny bit brownish, weak legs. On the nose: Hot wet pavement, slight spice, whiff of petrol. In the mouth: Light/med mouth feel, sweet cherries on the tongue, tiny bit of tart/bitter down the throat, light tannins, no real finish. There's nothing really wrong with this, but there are so many better pinots out there that this is just mediocre.
