Community Tasting Notes 2

October 27, 2011 - 14% alc. Deep, calm, integrated nose. Floral nuances. Lifted lemon and candy. Palate is fresh, has common features with previous wine (2007 Shaw and Smith M3 Chardonnay), if slightly more oak that affects texture. Long, very spicy. 17/20 points. Chardonnay blind tasting with Steven Spurrier in Moscow

March 13, 2011 - Concha Y Toro 90+ Tasting (Oineas): (Concha Y Toro 90+ Tasting at Oineas) The grapes were sourced mainly from El Triangulo, with a 5% from Limari Valley (to give more balance since the El Triangulo vineyard lacks natural acidity), it has spent 9 months in 100% new oak, with no malolactic. Deep gold color, the nose is a bit reserved, with a clear oak character and ripe fruits. Very nice palate, ripe and full, good acidity, minerality, citrus fruits and long aftertaste. It feels rather young, not utterly balanced yet, it could benefit from another year or two in the bottle. It is a wine for food and definately for ageing. It could fun to try older vintages from it.
