December 23, 2023 - Excellent barolo at this age. Pushes to red but is well balanced with food and the finish lingers for 45 seconds

January 15, 2023 - This was decanted for about 5 hours before drinking, though it was smelling beautifully from the first pour. There is a real sumptuous quality to the nose as there are plush tones of dark red cherries, raspberries, sour red fruits, crushed rocks, roasted herbs, thyme, fresh savory herbs, licorice, tar, crushed flowers, cigar wrapper, black truffles, violets, and some earth notes. The Full bodied feel is deft and balanced with tart and integrated, high acidity as well as silky, high tannins. The tannins are velvety right now with them right in that place of pulling back a little bit while still having plenty left in the tank. This is a wonderful 07 that is drinking beautifully right now. It’s still very much on the primary side, but it’s starting to ever so slightly kick on the tertiary notes. This will have no problem hitting 25+ years of age.

September 25, 2022 - Gorgeous expressive nose, very floral, hint of raspberry. On the palate the tannins are still prominent and dry, but with air have really softened. This is at the beginning of its optimal drinking window, which should continue to evolve over the next five years.

July 25, 2022 - Perfumed, floral. A special wine. Ripe strawberries, plums, sweet rose petals, autumn leaves, warm spices, herbs (mint? basil?), iodine, a touch of tobacco or gentle leather, and an almost endless and intense aftertaste. Quietly powerful, with a mysterious late night quality. No hurry, but no reason to wait. Serve relatively cool or the high alcohol will dominate. (Not decanted, tasted from the Riedel Vinum XL Pinot Noir glass.)

March 27, 2021 - Decanted and drank over 6 hours. Drinking well now but long life ahead. Was a little bit zingy on the palate at first and had an acacia honey aroma which is slightly odd yet quite pleasant. Quite rich and savoury overall and even drank well with fish and chips, highly unconventional but its good to try odd things sometimes...
Very pleased and if you have any in the cellar, no rush but provides lots of drinking pleasure now
