May 13, 2011 - I was surprised about the light and elegant style of this Gigondas. Someone working for the producer told me there are 5 main different soils in Gigondas, each producing their own character wine. It would be nice to study/taste this once in more detail. Anyway, this wine, made of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, is light in color and elegant with pleasant acidity, red forest fruits and soft herbs and spices and some minerals you would expect in the Northern Rhone.
