September 6, 2014 - The wine was okay, you can feel the heat of the alcohol on the back end. Alcohol is high on this one at 14+. Its fruity at first but flattens out within an hour. I bought as I had not tasted the Charbano varietal which I place as lighter than a cabernet, heavier than a pinot and reminiscent of an italian red like tempranillo.

July 20, 2014 - I continue to enjoy this easy red wine that is reportedly past its prime and yet is very pleasant in taste has a fulsome bouquet and stays balanced throughout. Really nice and no one knows the varietal so that in itself is a conversation. Had it tonight with egg plant parmesan and sausage, worked well as usual.

May 9, 2014 - Very nice wine with a nose of dark fruit such as blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, and plum with a little spice. The palate was smooth, balanced and tasty with flavors of blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, plum, licorice and spice. I drank this side by side with a 2005 Barolo paired with a Chicken Lasagna and the Charbono was the much better wine with a better flavor, more balance, stronger and longer finish.

May 3, 2014 - Nice body, juicy juice, light bouquet, tannins fully softened, still pleasant
