Community Tasting Notes 91

December 8, 2023 - Brought to Roux for dinner with Danique. Should have tested with Coravin, as this bottle disappointed big time. The nose was very nice and the initial attack of fruit was good. But it turned harsh on the finish and I detected a pretty clear volatile acidity component. It was drinkable, but not nearly up to the level expected. Have 3 more and will give them some time, and hope... My recent bottles of the 2011 Eloge were much better. Hope the 09 estate cab doesn't also have this problem.

February 2, 2023 - The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral, stoniness, stoniness, chocolate, vanilla and black currant (cassis). It tastes like forest floor. The body is medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

June 24, 2022 - Lovely floral aromas. Nicely integrated tannins. Balanced acidity. Dark fruit flavors. Medium+ finish. Nicely done.

February 27, 2022 - Hedonisic and rich style. Mature, still benefiting from breathing. Layers of flavors with interesting clay and clover notes.

February 26, 2022 - 2nd of 5 bottles purchased on release. Last consumed 2.5 yrs ago.
Beautifully maturing Napa Cabernet, full bodied and velvety mouthfeel.
Plum, black cherry, cassis, charcoal, and anise. Notes of wet soil and a hint of mint.
Long finish, beautifully balanced acidity. Drink through 2029.
