June 20, 2015 - Ripe and rather monolithic, lacking the nuance and secondary flavors I usually love in John Paul's wines - even entry level bottles like this. I blame the vintage.

December 24, 2013 - Great wine! I had low expectations, as this is Cameron's low-end cuvee, but it was really enjoyable, and provided a great contrast to some old-world Burgundy.

January 24, 2013 - Cautious optimism here: this was the fourth or fifth bottle I've tried, and materially better than previous ones. Still dense and chocolate-y, reflective of the vintage, but with substantially better balance, emerging OR pinot characteristics of forest floor and mushrooms, and less in-your-face fruit. Based on the positive changes since my first disappointing tastes of this wine, I'm hoping that my remaining bottles will continue to evolve and improve.

July 31, 2012 - Still disappointingly goopy and simple. The last glass (poured after the bottle had been open for four days) was the best, with less heat on the nose and a more balanced palate. I've opened several of these over the past year and none have been especially memorable - but I think I'll stash my last couple of bottles someplace way back in the cellar and hope for better things in the future.

March 13, 2012 - Notes similar to previous bottle. Seems like this WV bottling has more "funk" than any of the others. Nice wine at the price point.
