December 19, 2011 - Again Geyerhof produces a Riesling that tastes of honey and little else. Completely dominated by noble rot flavors this wine is drinking more like a sweet Auslese than a dry Riesling. Not at all food friendly with traditional Austrian Riesling dishes (such as trout) but might work with sweet&spicy Asian cuisine. To me they just missed to bring out any of the typical (dry) Riesling flavors here. Producing a sweet Auslese from their grape material might have been a better option as it is actually quite delicious in a desert wine style. Should age well too. - 80 points
