February 16, 2024 - Absolutely needs a 3hr decant. when it finally opened up, no sign of fruit left. Leather and tobacco. Fully matured right now and probably a bit past peak. Still a pleasant drink if you’re in to aged wines.

July 2, 2023 - From magnum. A perfect wine for a summer dinner of crabcakes and sweet corn. No tertiary flavors- all delicious plum and cherry, plus spices and some tartness on the long finish. Today the remaining glass or so in the decanter was even better. A bottle purchased directly from the winery.

November 22, 2019 - Disjointed, harsh, rough tannin, a bit of cherry cough syrup, brett?

November 5, 2018 - Tasting 15 year old California cabernet is always an interesting experience. Some taste as if they are still in their early youth while others taste tired and overly evolved. This wine seems to be right where it should. It is a textbook cab in many ways. The boisterous fruit and oak have faded and what is left is quite pleasant. Red and black currant, sweet spices, leather and tobacco are exactly what you expect from a wine of this age. The fruit is still lively and energetic but the secondary elements are coming more to the forefront. It's not very complex and it doesn't knock you over with its power, but it is a solid and balanced cabernet that definitely holds your interest. BTW there is zero brettanomyces on this wine.

October 27, 2016 - Seemed like there was a very nice wine underneath all the cloves. I assume this was contaminated with brett.
