April 16, 2023 - The wine, when first opened, remains shy on the nose, but its structure is excellent despite the suboptimal bottle conditions. After a brief contact with oxygen, it immediately reveals itself as the great wine it is. The fruit is still present but definitely in the background, while earthy and mineral notes take the spotlight along with beautiful spices ranging from cinnamon to licorice to tobacco. A lovely hint of beeswax permeates the senses. On the palate, it settles after almost 2 hours, with Nebbiolo tannins that are still present but well-polished, a velvety texture, and acidity that still supports the drinkability. Incredible persistence.

Persistenza incredibile.

November 10, 2020 - On opening light red ,was tight, acid+++, harsh, needed decanting for 8 hours. Then had oak, cherries, loads of acid, needed some food and cheese. Drank well, what a wait!

    April 5, 2015 - March di Gresy 1995 Martinenga
    App: dark brick red
Aroma: dried roses, licorice, leather, earth, meat and fading cherries, hint of dried fruit, but this faded after an hour.
Medium-bodied with good acidity and firm, bit available tannins.
Very good length with some sweetness in the finish.
    91p

    Decanted 1 hr.

April 30, 2009 - Nice red fruit, rather sweet, but with scents of licorice, red berries. It was probably best a few years ago. Drink up.
