November 26, 2015 - Bought a 3 pack 5 years ago consisting of 1 each of 97, 98 and 99 vintages at $ 29 per. First one tried since based on CT notes thought this had a chance of being drinkable. It was! Light gold in color with some mineral on the nose. Very nice palate. Not complex, but with nice balance of lemon, crushed stones and salinity. Hope the 97 and 99 drink just as well, but even if not, no regrets for giving this purchase a shot.

August 9, 2015 - #DCInvasion (Chicago, IL): I keep getting hit by these nice Mayacamas chardonnays and they keep blowing me away. This is a dead ringer for a riper Raveneau. It's got that ethereal lemon/saline thing going on for days. Tons of acidity as well -- the difference between this and the Raveneau would probably be the riper fruit that this has. Again, it's not a knock on the wine, but something that makes it clear that this is Californian and not Chablis. I like it. ANOTHER!

December 4, 2014 - Pretty amazed that this has held up so well, and gives me confidence that my ever-fluctuating wine fridge does not age wines as quickly as I thought. Similarly to my first bottle, this strikes me as, if not a perfect wine, an ideal wine. It does not reach insane heights of complexity, or have a nose that goes on for days. However, it's just so damn drinkable. Lots of fruit, plenty of acidity, nothing out of balance, this should appeal to everyone, burg-fanatics and cougarjuice drinkers alike.

December 1, 2014 - White Burgundy Dinner (Amali): Out of magnum, served blind. Everyone in the group guessed White Burgundy. Shows bright green apple and peach with just a touch of butterscotch and a lot of mint, with a sweet caramel edge on the finish. This has an odd combination of ripe fruit and sweet oak over a lean frame without a lot of extract and with high acidity, but it's a combination that works. Very good.

August 24, 2014 - Just terrific. Maybe my best try of this one yet. The fruit is clearly from California but the overall build, expression and structure is one you do not often see from the Golden State. Nice acidity and complexity without showing a ton of oxidation. The shadows of it's age were just enough to really make this interesting. It had that sort of 'energy'(if you can use that to describe wine) that you really only see from Chablis even if the fruit kept you from thinking about it too long. Good stuff. Some bottle variation it seems with these but they are in a great place if you have a good one.
