May 8, 2015 - Strong tart lime with a bit pith and a slight minerality. Very fragrant.

January 30, 2015 - Drunk over two days. Shows higher acidity on the second but overall a very nice mineral and food friendly riesling, excellent now.

January 7, 2015 - Great minerality and fruit. Balance is superb.

March 26, 2014 - Very good tonight. Lots of minerals and beautiful balance. Fruit has somewhat disappeared since the last try. Good with food and for sipping. Try next bottle in 2-3 years.

Terry Theise Estate Selections

(Hirsch Riesling Zöbing) ($24.00) CORE-LIST WINE. The ‘11 has moony delicate Gaisberg aromas, like blueberries that ripened under moonlight; the palate is fervidly spicy, markedly long, full of character and a powdery minerality. +

(Weingut Hirsch Riesling Zöbing) Light green-tinged yellow color; nice light pepper, savory nose; tasty, white pepper, savory, tart citrus palate; medium-plus finish 91+ points

Terry Theise Estate Selections

    2011 Austrian Catalog, 5/1/2011 (link)

(Hirsch Riesling Zöbing) ($29.00) More masculine than either ’08 or ’07; drier and saltier; and again rusk-y, rye and oats, but with a soft minerality on the side of the palate, a gentle note of herbs. The empty glass just reeks of iris. I sense this wine will change into something more flowery and compact after it’s bottled.
