Community Tasting Notes 3

August 21, 2021 - Love this wine and especially the old ones although hard to find these. Honey and floral and some impact from the age which makes this more complex. Very tasty.

January 26, 2021 - A bit difficult to open but waiter was using standard corkscrew rather than a Durand so that could explain it as well. It’s well aged. Much darker than the XG Condrieu Single vineyard we had alongside. More round flavors. A bit of oxidation but in a good way. Had a lot of character. Not necessarily a wine that worked as closely with food as some others we had.

October 7, 1989 - With Michael Lehmann and Brett Raven at Singer & Foy survey of new Rhone wines. Pale gold. What a nose. You can smell it a mile away. Wonderful varietal aroma. Complex, multi-layered. Who could ask for more? One of the best white wine noses I have ever smelled. In the mouth, the wine is certainly good, but really lacks acidity. Quite fat in fact. Too bad the palate doesn't match the nose. Finishes short. 5-14-13-6: 88/100.
