April 10, 2021 - Nose has the funk of botrytis. Decanted for 3 hours, Dark dry fruit, hot alcohol and not a long finish.

February 11, 2014 - This wine has a lot of character. We enjoyed it.

August 16, 2013 - Birthday gift from dad, warm alcohol nose backed up by dried fruit, the palette is dry and short, there's a hint of cassis but the alcohol quickly overcomes this. This is a pleasant quaffer, probably good with a roast but falls short of great.

November 18, 2012 - 2003 Pomerol - very balanced - not so fruit forward - more dried plum rather than jammy cassis- good solid Merlot that matches most Sunday roasts. Certainly very much ready to drink now with tannins quity silky -but unfortunately an overall unremarkable wine - solid, drinkable and ready but is it really worth 30 pounds?

November 8, 2011 - This was double decanted before tasting. The nose shows some good depth, with full and inviting blackberry scents mixing with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a dark smoky note. The blackberry flavors deliver very nicely on the palate, and some minerality makes an enjoyable appearance in the middle. The tannins are full, but they are integrated well with the fruit and balanced with the acidity. The acidity brings a brightness to the wine along with a touch of citrus on the finish. It's fully dry on the finish, with the acidity cleaning things up thoroughly.
