October 13, 2023 - Much better than the last bottle, this was really rather impressive. Deep notes of brambly fruit and herbs on the nose, with a mouthful of the same, followed by cool but ripe blackcurrant and a long, persistent finish. One of the best 02s I've had and with plenty of life left. Excellent value at 18 euros.

October 19, 2022 - Still going strong, in fact it's surprising how fresh the fruit is (every time since 2015 that I've opened one, I think the same!). Cranberry and redcurrants dominate now, with quite a full-bodied mouthful which also features red cherry. I can't see it getting any better and it'll never be as good as the 01, but no hurry either.

April 15, 2022 - Right time to open this wine, velvety tannins and round. It was drunk together with a boeuf bourguignon and it was very enjoyable. I would recommend to open this wine in the next coming months as it's now at it's peak.

March 17, 2022 - Gamay and Famille Paquet (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Clearly Loire cabernet franc from the pyrazines, and the bottle shape is the other tell. Ripe, with some drying fruit, but not quite as dirty as I remembered this wine being in the past.

August 28, 2020 - Drink out of magnum with friends. Did not decant and it was a hit. Consistent with previous notes. The magnum will drink through 2025, but 750ml should be consumed over the next three years. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 91.

August 9, 2020 - Thankfully no brett or overly-green elements that some other tasters here have noted. A lovely bottle strutting its exquisite structure more so than any specific primary or secondary aromas and flavors. Just barely identifiable as Loire cab franc by the tobacco leaf notes on the finish. I didn't decant but not only did the wine benefit from airtime in the glass, but it improved overnight in the bottle. Decanting recommended. I half expected this to be on the decline, but if anything it's in a bit of a quiet phase now. At this stage my score is 88, but could go much higher in a few years if everything falls into place. Crazy good deal for $22 in 2015, should have picked up more.

March 24, 2020 - Needed some time in the decanter to get warmed up. Still a rustic, lovely food wine with leftovers and other scraps. At or just past peak. Drink now. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 90.

December 2, 2019 - Bottle was slightly off, brett tossed the wine out of balance.
