December 19, 2019 - Opened at a Christmas party so not chance to properly evaluate. Seemed to be perhaps a bit corked.
September 23, 2013 - Wine, Browns and my 55th Birthday (My Home): Not sure what grapes are in this. from Mag brought by Andrew H. My first time trying one of these wines. The nose is earthy with some dark cherries. This is lean but firm. Tart cherries. Long finish. Interesting wine. Good acidity.
September 22, 2013 - Interesting and a lot of character with earthy elements and a good texture. But veered off into volatile notes and a missing core that made me like this a lot less than others appear to.
March 5, 2013 - high toned red fruit with beaujolais like minerality (granite!) dense and gritty, needs a good 5 years more
June 20, 2012 - I found this under a pile... Bottle #68 of 1239. Smoky black cherry/berry fruit on the nose followed by searing acid on the palate and granite-hewn tannins on the finish. Very nice but a bit rough around the edges with rudimentary food. Try it with cassoulet.
March 25, 2012 - 2012 Rhone Rangers Grand Tasting (San Francisco, Fort Mason Festival Pavillion): Baked red fruits and slight oak aroma. Light-medium bodied with tart cherry flavors. Blend of Syrah and Merlot
March 23, 2012 - Has a nice old world profile but still very delicious with just the right amount of fruit. Very silky and not at all heavy. I should have given it a few hours to decant - the best sips were the last ones.
January 10, 2012 - nose: this was all over the place with tones of dark red fruits, candy, markers, liqueur and tart red cherries. Nice depth to the nose, but hard to get a real handle
taste: medium/full bodied with good depth and medium acidity. Well balanced with tones of dark red fruits, funk, and a bit of candy tones
overall: this was a very interesting wine. Good depth, but the nose was slightly disjointed.
