September 6, 2012 - Gorgeous purple core fading to a ruby rim. Aromas of lush, ripe red and black berries and plum are layered with gravel and fresh oregano. On the palate, the Sangiovese provides a dense, chewy center of tart red berry while the merlot gives a rich, structured softness that finishes with a cherry cola echo, dusted with fine herbs and a note of gravel/graphite reminiscent of St. Estephe. Outstanding! Consulting enologist Stefano Chioccioli has done wonderfully here.
