    February 22, 2024 - Difficult one again,

Kept it to see, the wine still shows depth and concentration. Knowing the vintage and how it was in Bordeaux in those years I expect that wine to have been quite osmosed !

Meaning concentrated through reverted osmosis, to add sugar and concentration in a cold and wet vintage.

    67 CS 33 Merlot

The wine has a lot of tertiary notes, not very long but complexity, and soft tannins, acid is good and has held the wine so far ... It s still 89+ kind of wine I guess It was definitely not dead, but people don't know anymore about wines with less opulence and fruit ! Sad but True !

Tasted alongside a 2007 Rouget Pomerol ... so 2 complicated years side to side to compare Merlot dominated and CS dominated wines in cold and difficult vintages. Used to call them winemakers vintages

March 29, 2012 - Over the hills. Tannin is resolved with a short finish. Not much life left. Drink up.

May 3, 2009 - Very tight. Think it is closed. Will revisit this in a few years.

April 25, 2009 - Probably waited too long on this one. Cherry, cassis, cedar and spice. Good fruit on opening, but a short finish and faded quickly. Went quite well with a juicy rib steak. Ultimately, a solid, but just not that interesting effort.

July 16, 2008 - Nice coffee and casis. Actually, I have rather been liking my 2002 Bordeaux as of late. Harmonious all the way through with great complexity on the palate. Really nice wine at $33.
