April 2, 2024 - Pop and pour, sort of. Very tight to begin with, but the strawberry and red orange is there. Vs. the 2010 we felt this has the best potential. It also shows less evolution\age than the 2010.

March 22, 2024 - Simply fabulous, hedonistic, opulent, and deep, the wine is packed with dark cherries, kirsch, pepper, herbs, and earth. The wine is supple, rich, fresh, and long, with length, depth, and purity. This is beautiful now and is only going to better from here. Drink from 2024-2040.

March 13, 2024 - A sensual wine, with certainly very good concentration/weight. The only snag (to me) - its (a bit too) sweet. This will be a great wow wine with more cellar age, when the wine loses its "fat" and sweetness, and develop more of that "roses" bouquet. Too young to show its greatness, for now...

February 1, 2024 - A small impromptu dinner - 09 Rayas (The Henri, Washington D.C.): Exquisite nose displaying perfectly ripe intense black and red fruit, blackberry concentrated, cherry liqueur, strong tapenade and garrigue, licorice, tobacco and leather, liquid smoke, grilled cep, sweet spices, especially cinnamon, black pepper and crushed rocks. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated black fruit, rich and opulent but also exceptionally detailed and balanced, perfect amount of acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long concentrated black and red fruit driven finish with tapenade and licorice at the end. This is a quintessential Rayas that is drinking incredibly well.

November 24, 2023 - Opened in the bottle all day then in the decanter for several more. Good but nowhere near ready (like in need of 10-20 years). Translucent color and very powerful but lacking finesse and coming off a bit hot. Chocolate covered cherries, strawberry, dried herbs, anise and mineral. Easily will score higher in the future.
