August 2, 2016 - I found a single bottle of this on a dusty shelf in a small town on the edge of BC, and decided to give it a try.

A big, concentrated and intense bottle of wine from Sardinia, a small island off the west coast of Italy. 85% Carignan, 15% Syrah. Loads of over ripe black and red fruits, leather, mocha, spice and licorice backed by bright acidity and well integrated tannins. Drinking in its prime.

Tasted non blind at a wine tasting.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, cherries and flowers. Flavors of berries, raspberries and cherries. Tangy acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.

January 13, 2014 - Medium purple, clear. Young, big aromas of asphalt, tar, raspberry jam, black cherry, and anise. Dry, medium weight, a palate of black licorice, iron, mineral, medium oak, and richer strawberry. Long finish.

January 6, 2014 - Still drinking well, see previous notes. Complex and mysterious.

August 12, 2013 - I finally decided to try the first of my Shardana 07's and was blown away. This is one of those bottles that has benefited from sitting and waiting around. Made with grapes from Seafront vines many over 100 years old and rare, pre-Phylloxera stock. Full bodied Italian red yet still quite elegant. 85% Carignan and the rest syrah. Licorice, herb, smoke and game are met with notes of leather and dark ripe cherries. Dusty, chewy tannins.
