Community Tasting Notes 2

August 6, 2011 - A nice wine considering its style and price: simple, intensively fruity with red berry aromas, hints of dark cherry, hints of undergrowth, fresh, light-medium bodied. Unoaked. Not perfectly balanced, no complexity and no length but for the price that's not required. Easy drinking wine, on its own or with grilled red/white meats. Rebuy: for 5.50€ the answer is YES. Drink now through 2012.

May 14, 2011 - Decanted 1/2 hour. Dark purple colour. Youthful, very attractive nose of crushed red fruits (strawberry, raspberry...), light-medium body, quite acidic on the palate, not overly tannic, slightly rough on the edges and alcoholic heat on the finish. A bit unbalanced. For sure this is a simple and rustic kind of wine, but not bad for 5.50€. Drink now through 2013. Not sure if the balance can improve with 1-2 years cellaring, but I'll give it a try.
