Community Tasting Notes 5

April 10, 2021 - PnP with home made pizzas.

Drank immediately after the 2010 regular bottling, and this was immediately darker and more powerful with a different aromatic profile going towards confected strawberries and spices. Wonderful balance and still years to go.

November 3, 2018 - Pop and pour and served with food (rouladen with red cabbage and spaetzle, in case you were wondering).
    Light ruby red color; clear.
Wonderful floral nose with fresh strawberries.
While light in color and weight, this has full flavors of red berries, fresh flowers, citrus peel and a stone/mineral, almost saline, note that gives another dimension to the wine.
    Delicious.

This bottle was purchased in Sicily and, after transport, was kept in 55F degree controlled environment.

May 30, 2017 - first time ever tried, very impressed slight brown red colour. stringent and very dry with hints of red berries

March 27, 2013 - Eerily like Red Burgundy; I suspect that, tasted blind, most would declare it as Burgundy. I agree with the first TN for this wine. I add that the nose includes mushroom, forest floor, spice and 'wet dog'/horse. Red fruits are exquisite. Tannins are, indeed, super fine.

This needs 2 years+ to fully come together. 90 because it needs more time to deliver on its apparent potential.

    Next Night
[A couple of std drinks saved in small screw sealed bottle over night. Drinking fantastically well tonight. Expected integration has happened.]

March 21, 2012 - Light red in colour. Red currants in the mouth. Cleaner and lighter in style than the Sciaranouva, more airy and even more concentrated. Burgundian style with fine tannins and very tight structure. I feel this has a future like a great Burgundian premier cru.
