Community Tasting Notes 10

August 8, 2022 - Honestly just too advanced for me. I've had many 50's and 60's Barolo's that taste a lot younger. The bottle looked perfect but I'm not sure it was stored probably. Still very drinkable, just more mature than I would think it should be at this point.

November 27, 2019 - BYO (Anarki): Over the top. Lacks fruit and excitement.

February 18, 2018 - I know the insider conventional wisdom says that you can't over-aerate old Barolo, but I think over-aerated this. Decanted off the sediment three hours before service. The half-glass I tasted immediately upon opening was great -- full of elegant, mushroomy black fruit. Three hours later, the wine was still good but had picked up a strong volatile note that wasn't there earlier.

February 19, 2017 - Like the last one, but a notch less precise in its profile.

February 4, 2017 - A delicious, fully mature barolo that will hold for years yet. Color showing dusky prune, aromatics that are earthy, smokey, with ripe fruit notes. Well balanced, tannin holding and showing the plushness of the vintage.
