January 31, 2020 - pretty wine once it came around. double decanted at 1130am for a 730 dinner/tasting. may have messed up by thinking it needed 30-1hr in open decanter because it was closed down. nevertheless it was still a solid wine, albeit came off a little old/dead by the time it was served around 9/930

January 31, 2020 - La Festa del Barolo Gala Dinner (The Pool in NYC): From a magnum. Drinking it's age so a bit more of the leather and saddle oil and all of that.

November 21, 2019 - Superb aged Barolo with intense red fruit flavors and a great mineral crunch on the finish. Very complex and precise with plenty of acidity and softened tannins. Drink now before the acids take over the fruit.

May 7, 2019 - from one of the "grand cru" vineyards. medium bodied and garnet in color with a really great nose of rose and cherry. The wine drank young with solid acidity and soft rounded tannins. This barolo has a lovely mouthfeel with cherry, balsamic, leather, and a hint of mint on the palate. there was a lovely purity of fruit here. I expected a more feminine wine given the vineyard, but this effort was surprisingly robust.

May 3, 2019 - Shane’s 5th Annual Game Dinner - Themed “Cinghiale e Piemonte” (Shane and Dina’s Home in NJ/USA): Decanted 3 hours prior to serving with Shane’s deconstructed pork cheek ravioli along-side the 1967 Damilano Barolo. Both wines were stellar but this one was on the whole the better of the two but only by a smidge. It is a brilliant translucent medium ruby color. With an effusive nose of spices, cedar, leather, chocolate, sweet pipe tobacco, tar and mushrooms. It is quite high in acidity and medium in terms of tannin which is mostly integrated. Palate is quite rich and chewy with minerals, peppery spices, dried cherries, tobacco, cedar and distinctly both porcini and morel mushrooms. Very layered, complex and elegant and extremely long and savory on the finish. Absolutely spot on to have with the boar cheek, both cutting the fat and complementing the flavors. Wonderful! If pushed to pick one best wine of the evening among a bunch of really great wines...I think this would be the unanimous choice.
