I know, tannin is a major part of the attraction of PS, but it was just a little too rough in places. The fruit--that dark sloe and blackberry--and the meaty, savory goodness were just a little lost behind that wall of tannin. Still, we nearly drained it.   March 20, 2013 - PnVnP. Vibrant purple black almost saturated with a violet to clear rim. Big blackberry compote fig and espresso and charcoal nose. Medium(+) with big plush black cherry skin tannins. Blackberry fig espresso and Bing Cherry flavors. Pleasant floral and charcoal note on the finish. Big and elegant. Great pizza wine.
