May 17, 2015 - Deep golden yellow. Big apple nose with heat. Viscous in the mouth. This is a big white wine with some apple and citrus but dominated by heat. 15.3% alcohol. A bit one sided.

October 28, 2014 - Golden hue. Nose has mango and a slight smell of smoke from a matchstick. Flinty. Ripe mango and some green apple on the palate with a touch of minerality. Medium acidity. This wine hides the alcohol fairly well. Short to medium finish.

July 11, 2012 - PnP. This Santa Barbara Viognier clicks in at 15.3% abv, deep lemon in color. On the nose, super ripe mango and fragrant honeysuckle jump out of the glass, with a bit of honey and butterscotch in the upper register. On the palate, sweet peach and tropical mango lead into a fullish-bodied mouthfeel, ample acidity, only slightly palatable heat, and a medium fruity finish which has just a tad of white pepper at the tail end. Should drink well for another 2-3 years. Pretty nice QPR.
