October 5, 2017 - Cata Histórica de Campeador (Martínez Lacuesta) (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): This wine is dying with a tremendous note of moisture and leather. Dung and a vague memory of kirsch. Very lemony and some cereal too. It even gets better with time. Candy for adults. In the mouth it has hearty taste. Watery texture. No fruit at all but ready to match with food, the ideal wine.

October 7, 2009 - A stellar evening with the Kesslers: Older Riesling, Vouvray, Fleurie, Rioja and Hermitage. (Dougherty's): Has good color, but is pretty cloudy. A little volatile on the nose, though what old Rioja isn't? It's a bit fragile, but there's pleasant cherry fruit, dusty earth and leather flavors and aromas. The fruit grew with air for awhile before fading after a couple of hours, but freshly poured it showed that wonderful sweetness fruit attains with old age. Pleasant, if past peak and a bit muddled.
