October 13, 2023 - Drank surprisingly well for a wine which is considered 6 years past its prime drinking window. The wine is probably on the downside of the curve, but I found it to be a medium-full bodied wine with both primary and secondary notes. IMHO, it was actually better than the '08 RdV (now called "Lost Mountain"} I had a while back.

December 26, 2020 - Really wanted to enjoy and be impressed by the 2008 RdV Rendezvous but am spoiled by the 2010 RdV Rendezvous and other wines in this same style. Not sure the 2008 has many years left so probably time to drink up.

July 14, 2020 - Everyone always tells me how great Virginia wines are, but I find them syrupy and mediocre. This was no exception. Used the Coravin to sample and drank about half. Finally gave up and used for cooking. Not worth $10.

December 2, 2018 - Also a fantastic bottle of wine - nearly as good as the flagship RdV 2008 itself. Similar tasting notes of rich fruit, spice, cedar. This one was also well balanced with perhaps a bit more acidity. Really seemed like a top-class Bordeaux.

May 30, 2015 - Wine of the night at my wine group tasting of "aged" Virginia wines, followed closely by Delaplane Cellars 2007 Springlot Reserve. Anyhow, the RdV showed such grace and seductiveness, it was truly amazing to realize this was a "Virginia" wine.
