September 2, 2018 - this is simply one of the very best sources for PS

  • George Lopez Likes this wine: 95 points

August 12, 2015 - Nothing says "party" like a magnum of Quixote. This wine just takes the evening up to another level.

July 17, 2014 - I am upping my previous score significantly. This bottle just showed beautifully last night--it might have been the best bottle of Petite Syrah I have ever had. Beautiful fruit and a long finish. Outstanding effort from Quixote in a vintage they consider to be among their best. Wow.

March 30, 2014 - Really really bright fruit with a smooth jammy finish

March 14, 2014 - The drinking window for this wine is just starting to open. My usual rule for Quixote PS is to wait at least eight years before drinking. When I've followed that policy in the past, I've almost always been rewarded. I jumped the gun a little because I was curious about the '08, which the winery said was their best vintage ever. This wine is still tannic, but you can tell there is very good fruit lurking below the surface. I decanted this bottle for an hour, which was probably not long enough. I rated it 92 on potential alone, though.
