October 6, 2023 - Meh - I opened this side-by-side with a Siro Pacenti and there is literally no comparison between the two wines. I've heard that Pieri is considered a pretty decent producer in Brunello, but I've never had a 2006 that I thought was even good, much less representative of a wine from a strong vintage.

April 4, 2023 - Gorgeous. Lovely fruit. Structure from ripe, fine tannins. Very long finish. Beautiful balance with complexity and intensity.

November 12, 2022 - Gorgeous, ripe, red fruits. Just beginning to develop savoury overtones. Fine tannins. Very long finish. Try last bottle in 2024.

August 19, 2022 - Prior bottle was almost 15 months ago and this wine remains in a good spot. Black cherry, leather and spice notes continue to make up the nose. Just above medium bodied with black cherry upfront that's a touch more rounded and open while retaining enough brightness to feel lively. Mid-body adds some darker black cherry notes as well as plum and then tart black cherry on the back. Also continues to show good structure with both tannins and acidity which are slowly integrating with the mid-body fruit. Cork was in outstanding, almost perfect shape and the last three bottles have showed the progress I'd hoped. While the wine is drinking well now (with 2+ hours open ahead), it clearly has the elements to continue to evolve along the lines for several more years.
