October 28, 2017 - Very similar to my previous note but less powerful this time but still outstanding. It's too bad that not many will be able to try this because of price and/or availability. I'm a huge Spottswoode fan and this wine is every bit as good.
Amazing floral Cab nose, medium mouthfeel and incredible extraction. Lots of chocolate, leather and berry and a finish that goes on forever. The nose is just as great as the taste and finish. I wish I had more of this. I have some 2013 so will have to wait a bit for these. One of the best California Cabs produced. -

May 7, 2017 - This is one of the best Napa Cabs I have ever tasted and I've had most of them. Super extraction, perfect balance, acidity and a finish that goes on forever. Wonderful chocolate, spice, vanilla, leather with full, round mouthfeel.
The only reason I didn't give it a higher score is because of the price. This is on the same level as a Spottswoode Estate which is my top dog for Napa Cabs & the one all others are compared to.
Is it worth the price ($175)? It's hard to say. Is it worth it? Yes but at the same time there are others with similar extraction for much less. Darioush, Kobalt, Pride Mountain, Larkmead all come to immediate mind.
I think if you are a serious Napa Cab, limited production fan that you should splurge for a bottle or two and give it a shot. I would be interested in your thoughts. Just don't tell your wife what you paid for it. Every Del Dotto wine I have tried is exceptional. Outstanding producer.1 person found this helpful Comments (1)
