Snowey Likes this wine:
October 7, 2021 - Had at home with rack of lamb.
Beautiful wine that evolved over a couple of hours. We did not decant but rather let it evolve in the glass.
Dark color with limited bricking. Good mouthfeel and nose that showed tertiary scents of earth. Acidity was medium plus and the finish long.
Yummy.
2 for 2 on Henri Gouges aged wines. -

July 11, 2018 - P & P; drank over an hour with four on a bottle. Really lovely, and I wish I would have waited longer on the first six of the case, because it took some years for this to evolve, but the last six were excellent. This was the last; 91-92.

March 1, 2018 - This seemed tired, but then so was I. Will revisit the VV'd remainder in a day or so.
Yep that was it. Fine the next evening; more than fine: just the sort of pleasurable, goes-with-a-steamed-pastrami-on-rye, lucky-to-be-drinking-this vibe that I treasure in Nuits St. Georges. -

December 23, 2017 - Opened for an hour or so before drinking with a meal; no decant. I started with nine of these several years ago, and while there is our valuable educational/experiential aspects to following a number of bottles over a number of years, I would have been well-advised to have waited until the past couple of years to begin approaching this wine. The previous bottle (the sixth) was lovely; this one was even better. I find it difficult to describe good Pinot Noir: the vocabulary that comes easier to me with other varieties fails me here. Not mushroom, not berry, not earth, just...really good Pinot Noir, with the sense that the particular wine belongs to a certain patch of ground in a distinct neighborhood in a specific region with often optimal conditions and superior chops. One can in truth say that of Pinot done well from Oregon to New Zealand and everywhere between. But this is France, this is Burgundy, this is Nuit Saint Georges, and this always brings a smile.

February 13, 2016 - Day One: popped and poured. Still a little rough (wife liked it, though). if scoring, 89. VVd, did not refrigerate. Day Two: great improvement. Sweeter and smoother. I've had five of these, and I have to say, all too early, so I'm altering my drinking window. Hold or drink, but give it at least an hour of air to do it justice.
