  June 26, 2021 - A traditional Barolo in a good state of maturity. Dark core with an orange rim. An autumnal melange of sweet cherries, licorice, tar, leather and slight floral elements. In the mouth the wine offers full flavours and a positively unctuous texture. However, the structure is still very much alive and the tannin seems to clip the finish a bit. I guess that a longer decant would have helped here (more than a mere 1 1/2 hours). If my memory serves me correctly the Barolo Bricco Cerretta normale 2006 showed a bit more potential than this bottling, but was less accessible at the time (TN from 2018).

  March 20, 2020 - Colore integro con unghia granata. Naso tipico di nebbiolo, variegato e di grande pulizia. Bocca solida, piena, appagante: il tannino di Serralunga è vivo ma levigatissimo. Chiusura coerente e lunga. Grande bottiglia in splendida forma ancora per molti anni.

  December 12, 2019 - This wine was ranked 6 out of 8 at the Barolo/Barbaresco Tasting. All of the wines in the tasting were of great caliber ranging from '96 to '08. Nevertheless, this one was not quite on the same plane as the top wines of the evening.

  April 24, 2018 - Ultimamente non ho quasi mai voglia di nebbiolo, soprattutto se importante ed affinato, eppure quando ci ficco dentro il naso immancabilmente mi ri innamoro. Questo Barolo di Serralunga inizia ora ad accennare alle prime evoluzioni e terziarizzazioni, ma sono accenni moderati che lo rendono dinamico, complesso ma non troppo impegnativo. Naso incentrato su note di fresche erbe aromatiche ed officinali, spezie piccanti, fiori primaverili, terra umida, cuoio. Mi pare un ottimo momento per berlo. Ma non teme di certo di attendere in cantina per altri 10 anni tranquillamente. Un ottimo Barolo.

  April 5, 2018 - Used in the Mature Barolo Tasting. This Barolo was a huge favorite of several tasters, but it was my least favorite. The wine seems to have lost it fruit over the years, to my taste. It did have some interesting earthy, leather, and spice notes.
