November 21, 2023 - My last of 18 bottles. Just an explosive nose of red fruits dominated by strawberries. This wine just gained power and got darker and darker as it sat in our glasses even after being slow oxed for 12 hours. The concentration of fruit was right at n your face. So dark no one could believe that it’s almost 23 yrs old. Still a lot of life and room to improve.

April 16, 2023 - Tight and reserved when opened, still kicking off some smokey and floral notes. Let it slow breath in the bottle for 2 hours then decanted for 1 hour. Deep concentrated nose of cigar, violets, red fruits that also all comes through on the palate. Medium acidity rolling with sharp, fine tannin that is still strong and punchy. This is a big, gorgeous complex and well aged Barolo that has a lot of years left in the drinking window. One of the better wines I have had.

    December 12, 2021 - In perfect shape
    Cork almost soaked through
Gentle tannins with cherries and a resilient strong backbone
Went well with flank steak on the grill for Leda’s birthday

August 22, 2021 - Stunning, beautiful perfectly aged Barolo, at or near its peak and should hold for 5-10 yrs. Heady with notes of tar, licorice, bitter orange peel, roses, cranberry; softened up but ample tannins, silky smooth full entry, excellent concentration, long; No heavy dishes here but went well with the prosciutto and mortadella polpette, and cacio e pepe. The Fiano we ordered didn't work that well with the pesto. W/A Felix Trattoria

April 26, 2021 - Absolutely wonderful mature Barolo. 3hr decant based on previous notes. Some bricking at edges. Nose is beautifully layered and sweetness leathery earthy notes and a little rose petal. The palate is round and full, with sweetness, cedar, chocolate, rose petal, vanilla and cherry. Sublime, the bottle just didn't last long enough!
