Community Tasting Notes 1

October 8, 2011 - Incredibly fresh smelling and tasting for a 35 year old wine. Rust colored with a bit of decanting required to remove the sediment. Nose was quite expressive - cassis, cedar and floral / woody elements similar to taking an autumnal walk through woods on a crisp day. Light bodied, smooth and very feminine. Bright cassis initially (like flat ribena at one stage) before cedar and an herbal element evolved. Short to medium length. Our steaks (rib eye beef & minted lamb chops) went very well with it.
