June 10, 2016 - Brick color, nice nose of red fruit and sage but just too tart to be really enjoyable. Probably ok for what it is, but I've always preferred Foxen's Rhones and Pinots. Their Italians just really aren't my thing.

July 27, 2013 - Great Cal-Italian blend, I like this wine a lot. Good fruit and some licorice. Very food friendly wine. Will search out again- hopefully I can find a couple at Whole Foods.

May 18, 2013 - Dark garnet with medium viscosity in the glass. Rustic nose of black fruit, stewed tomato, herbs and oak. Medium body with dense, stewed red fruit, black fruit, herbs, oak and spice on the palate. Secondary black cherry and must. Showing well at this time with integrated tannin, sturdy structure and balance. Medium finish. Excellent with pizza and pasta.

October 21, 2012 - Dark fruit nose & taste. Balanced tannins. Finished strong. 80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot.

September 27, 2012 - Huge nose of fruit, hard to place it though, with a dab of heat which is surprising given it is only 14.2%. Dashes of straw or wood in the nose as well. Good tannin structure. Though still just medium weight at heart, surprisingly beefy mouth given the sangio/merlot 80/20 blend. Palate dominantly subdued quince. Good tannin structure. Paired superbly with a zesty tomato sauce on farfalle (chance pairing). Could even go 90 pts perhaps, bottle seems to have disappeared : (
