May 17, 2023 - Deep yellow color. Smooth entry with honey dew melons and apples. Finishes has a soft sweet touch. Enjoyable.

September 14, 2022 - Rich, deep yellow color. Rich palate as well. Medium weight. Succulent honey, brown spice, orange, and something tropical. Average acidity, seems fully expressed at this juncture.

July 27, 2022 - Tropical fruits, flinty and that delicious acid spline! Still young but so delicious already. Needed a bit of air to fan out.

November 26, 2021 - First time I am drinking the 2010. Nose of citrus, minerals, a whiff of flint. This is good as always but I have seen much stronger showings of Donnhoff's Herrmannshole.

November 16, 2021 - Floral notes. Honey. Sweet balanced by firm acid. Nice finish

(Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese) ($62.00) What, really, is left to say? All the images have been spent, the cupboard of adjectives is bare. In 2010 the slate is more prominent, the tones go less to scarlet and raspberry and more to limes and leaves and a surmise of licorice; the focus is arresting; the wine bores into you. Spit all you want, it won’t leave your mouth.
